Anthony Irving Owens, known to family and friends as “Tony” was born on July 13, 1955, in Huntington hospital in Huntington, NY.  He was the 3rd child born to Robert Lee Owens and Marjorie Louise Foulke. Tony attended North Babylon Senior High School in North Babylon, NY and graduated in 1974. While attending High School, he earned his certificate in Computer Programming from Boces and Wilson Technical School.

In 1976 Tony worked at Fulfillment Associates in Farmingdale, NY as Computer Operator and Night Shift Supervisor. In 1980, Tony was promoted to Direct Mail Specialist for the Computer Operations Department.

In 1987, Tony relocated to Palm Coast, FL and began working for Palm Coast Data as a Direct Mail Supervisor, where he met and married his loving wife Kathleen on May 26, 1990, and they moved to Ormond Beach, FL.  After retiring from Palm Coast Data in 2013, Tony lost his eyesight and learned to embrace his new life with the help of the Division of Blind Services in Daytona Beach.

In 2016, Mohave, his guide Dog companion who was trained by the Guiding Eyes Institution for the Blind, joined the family. Together the two of them served and assisted the blind community in several capacities. Tony worked for the Center for the Blind, Library for the blind, and Goodwill Career Center in Daytona Beach and his newest position was Supervisor of the Division of Blind Services.

Tony never let any challenge or obstacle stop him from achieving his goals and dreams. He valued his relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and attended church on regular basis.  Tony enjoyed ballroom dancing and competed with dancers Laurie Clark and Debbie Aquilino and amateur partner Lisa Castro. He also enjoyed skiing and Bowling and spending time with his family and friends.

Tony is predeceased by his parents Robert and Marjorie and his wife Kathleen.
