April Marie West

April Marie West, born on April 6, 1999, at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away on October 17, 2024, at the young age of 25 years old. 

Growing up in Port Orange, April attended local preschools and elementary schools.   She was an active and spirited student at Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she enjoyed playing volleyball, forming lasting friendships along the way.  Her passion for sports continued through high school, where she participated in weightlifting and proudly graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School in 2017.

April cherished the outdoors, often spending her days fishing or relaxing at the beach. In her free time, she found joy in painting, especially capturing the beauty of sunsets and moon risings, which reflected her love for nature and artistry.  She enjoyed working out at the gym and dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher, sharing her love for wellness with others.  A talented chef, she shared her passion for cooking by creating exquisite dishes for several local restaurants, leaving a lasting impression on those who tasted her culinary creations.

On July 11,2017 April became the mother to a beautiful baby girl, Elena Marie West, who was her greatest joy and inspiration.  April had a deep and unwavering love for her daughter.  Her affection and dedication to Elena were central to her life, and she cherished their bond above all else.  April's love for her will live on forever, a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and nurture Elena as she grows.

April’s vibrant personality and determination were evident in everything she did. Her laughter and smile were contagious, bringing joy to everyone around her. Her vibrant spirit, warmth, and loving nature will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and will deeply be missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.

April is survived by her beloved daughter, Elena Marie West, and her family, including her mother Tina West, step-father Charles Moorman III, father Edward West, step-mother Katie West, brothers Jarrett West, Nicholas West, Kevin Sampico, and Samuel Moorman, sister Victoria Moorman, niece Khaleesia Moorman, aunt Katherine Webster, uncle Keith Webster,  cousins Jack and Teagan Webster, and grandmother Eileen West along with many other family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her great-grandmother Christine Brill, grandmother Norma Brill (MeMe), grandfather Bill Brill (PaPa), and grandfather William West.
