Diana Clifton Bell, lovingly known for her warmth, grace, and vibrant spirit, was born on September 27, 1947, to the late James Clifton and Susie Ray Clifton.
Diana was educated in the Volusia County school system and graduated from Campbell Senior High School, Class of 1965. She continued her studies at Daytona Beach Community College and subsequently earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida. Her dedication to education and personal growth reflected her lifelong commitment to excellence.
Diana devoted over 40 years to education, serving as a dedicated educator in Alachua, Marion, and Volusia Counties. She specialized in English and Exceptional Student Education, impacting countless students with compassion, patience, and commitment, and retired after four decades of faithful service.
She was united in marriage to Stacy Bernard Bell, and from this union, her beloved daughter, Dr. Joy Helene Bell Giles, was born. Diana found immense joy in her family and took great pride in their accomplishments.
She was known for her love of the Florida Gators, her exceptional cooking (especially seafood and barbecue), and her passion for bringing people together, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter, comfort, and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Susie Ray Clifton; siblings, Helen Clifton Garvin and James Rizzell Clifton. She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted daughter, Dr. Joy Helene Bell-Giles, and son-in-law, Knowledge Giles of Charlotte, N.C.; her sister, Lavelda Clifton of Daytona Beach, FL.; nieces, Cicely Jackson of Daytona Beach, FL.; Tadia Clifton of Daytona Beach, FL., Farrah Clifton of Daytona Beach Florida, Robin Griffin-Gantt of Gainesville, FL.; nephews, William Clifton of Daytona Beach, FL., Joseph and J.R. Jackson of Daytona Beach, FL. ; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Robert Griffin of Gainesville, FL. ; God-daughter Karen Gamble of Daytona Beach, FL. dear friends, Barbara and Pete Gamble of Daytona Beach, Fl., Vickie and Tyrone Presley of Daytona Beach Fl, Twila and Robert Parker of Deland, Fl., and Cashmere Gadson Omuta of Holly Hill, Fl. ; along with a host of extended family and friends.
She peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
