James Henry Maddox, passionately known as Rooster was born on February 13, 1949, in Daytona Beach, Florida to Elnora Maddox and James Glover. He departed this life peacefully on December 1, 2022. He attended the local Public Schools of Volusia County. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and he also enjoyed the Dog Track and the Jai-Lai. He was always helping others if he could. He loved riding around pulling his cart that his two brothers built for him to collect his cans.
James is preceded in death by his mother Elnora Maddox; sisters: Jackie Irven and Clementine Lynette Irven; brothers: Willie Irven and Garrett (Pat) Irving.
He leaves to cherish his memory his longtime mate Jackie Strini of 30 years; one daughter Chi-Lite Jones of Houston, Florida; three sons: James Maddox Jr., Jerome Broom both of Raceland, Louisiana and Michael Broom of Daytona Beach; three sisters: Loretta Maddox of Atlanta, Georgia, Joan Mullins and Mary Irven both of Daytona Beach; two brothers: Charles Davis and Michael Irven both of Daytona Beach, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
