Marilyn Williams-Dawson Obituary

Marilyn Williams was born and raised in Starke, Florida to the late Arthur and Magnolia Williams on November 30, 1955.  She moved to Daytona Beach, Florida with her oldest sister in 1972.

Marilyn attended and graduated from Bradford High School in Starke, Florida.  She received her Certified Nursing Certificate from Mary Wallace Registry in Daytona Beach, Florida and received her Unit Secretary Certificate from Daytona State College.

On September 24, 1994, Marilyn was joined in Holy Matrimony to her loving and devoted husband Kenneth Dawson Sr

Although she wasn’t the oldest but the baby girl, Marilyn was known as the matriarch of the family.  Marilyn loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone.  Marilyn would cook and bake for Thanksgiving for her entire family from all over Florida and other states.  She was the cook at work on her unit floor for all gatherings and at church.  She was a caring and giving person to anyone in need.  Marilyn was a dedicated employee for AdventHealth Hospital in Daytona Beach for 45 plus years.  She was a faithful and devoted member of New St. James Missionary Baptist Church for 30 plus years. She was ordained as a Deaconess on December 29, 2019.

The fragrance of her memories will always be sweetly scented and cherished by her loving husband Kenneth Dawson Sr. of Daytona Beach, Florida; two loving sons Simroy Sampson of Greenville, KY and Marlon Sampson of Jacksonville, FL; one loving daughter and caregiver Bukeshewa Sampson of Daytona Beach, FL; three stepchildren Kenneth Dawson Jr. (Shanna), Jamika Florence, and Janice Dawson all of Georgia; one loving God-daughter Trakenya Williams (Lorenzo) of Daytona Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; three brothers Bobby Williams of Starke, FL, Arthur Williams Jr. (Leashar) of Jacksonville, FL, and Paul Williams of Daytona Beach, FL; two loving sisters Dora Thomas of Jacksonville, FL and Sandra Dixon (John) of New York; one uncle John Matthews (Sharon) of Daytona Beach, FL; a devoted life-long friend and prayer partner Patricia Killins (Larry) of Daytona Beach, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, co-workers, and her church family.
