Phyllis M. Oevermann

Phyllis M. Oevermann, 85, went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2020 at her home in Ormond Beach, FL. She was born in Nebraska, but since 1965 had lived in Ormond Beach, Florida.  She and her husband first started a moving business in Holly Hill then built a business park that she managed until 2017.  She also taught at Mainland High School for ten years. After retiring from teaching, she established a silk flower business which she owned for 12 years. She was active with the Ormond Beach Elks Lodge, Ormond Beach Senior Olympic Games, bowling leagues and Harbor Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Oevermann.  Survivors include her daughters, Susan Pettyjohn (Charles) of Staunton, VA and Sandra Aleshire (Will) of Fayetteville, NC along with eight grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.   Visitation will be held Thursday, 9/10/20 from 5pm – 7 pm at Pinello Funeral Home, 1036 Derbyshire Road, Daytona Beach, FL.  Funeral services will be at 10AM Friday, September 11, 2020 at Harbor Baptist Church, Ormond Beach, FL with burial on Saturday at 1:00pm at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, FL.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or Harbor Baptist Church, Ormond Beach, FL.
