Richard Gautier Rogers

Richard Gautier “Buddy” Rogers went to meet his Lord & Savior on August 29, 2022, after a short term illness. He was born August 24, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to Hunter Bryan Rogers and Mildred Gautier Rogers Ewing. Buddy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was married to Monique Burks Rogers for 22 years. Buddy attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis class of 1960, University of Tennessee 1960 - 1962, Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis) class of 1964. He was a member of the SAE fraternity while in college. Before retiring in 2007, Buddy worked with Campbell Soup, Armour Meat Company. He was then Vice President of NIFDA, a foodservice buying co- op and label. In 1983 he was hired by City Provisioners as Vice President/ General Manager to head up the company’s sales and marketing activities. In 1998, he joined SPS (Sales Partner Systems), a sister company to City Provisioners (CP Foodservice) to market computer software solutions for foodservice distributors across the country. Buddy was an active member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist minister for a few years. Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, his brother in law David Stevenson, and his wife Rita Burks Rogers.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Monique Burks Rogers; son, Richard Burks Rogers (Kelly) of Daytona Beach, FL; daughter, Rene Rogers Edlund (Brooks) of Tampa; FL; son, Christopher Brant Rogers (Jeanelyn) of Plantation, FL; bonus daughters, Ashley Nicole Mabry and Natalie Renée Mabry of Daytona Beach, Florida; sister, Corinne Ewing Stevenson; of Silver Spring, MD; brother, Kenneth David Ewing of Germantown, Tennessee; brother, Stephen Michael Ewing (Marilyn) of Lenexa, Kansas; sister, Marian Ewing Garibaldi (Bob) of Germantown, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Makenzie Monique Sager of Daytona Beach, FL; Jake Allen Edlund of Tampa, FL; Zachary Scott Sager of Daytona Beach, FL; Dylan Rylee Rogers of Plantation,FL; Reese Landri Edlund of Tampa, FL; Gregory Cole Sager of Daytona Beach, FL; Shane Crew Rogers of Plantation, FL; Saylor Grace Rogers of Plantation, FL; and Christopher Wilde Rodriguez Mabry of Daytona Beach, FL.
Family will receive friends from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on Saturday, September 3rd, his celebration will begin at 4:00PM
