Stella Catherine Hamilton, 69 of Daytona Beach was called to rest on May 12, 2021.
Stella Catherine Hamilton was born in Daytona Beach on November 1, 1951. She graduated from Daytona Beach Community College at the age of 15. She then moved to Atlanta shortly after graduating and managed the YWCA for women. From Atlanta she moved to New York City and worked for IBM as a corporate accountant. While living and working in New York she met Hubert Hamilton at her local church. They fell in love and were married in 1975. After starting their family Stella and Hubert moved to Florida where she worked within her company at the Boca Raton and Orlando locations. After finishing her career with IBM. She became a licensed insurance agent but fell in love with real estate. After working for ERA and Caldwell Banker she attained her brokers license. She reached the goal of being the first black woman in Volusia County to attain her brokers license in real estate. But her true calling was ministry. She was a licensed Evangelist Ordained Elder and Co-Pastor of Mt. Zion C.O.G.IC in Sanford Florida with her husband Elder Hubert Hamilton. She also made time to speak on local radio station 1310 AM WYND Christian radio. She enjoyed helping people and would sometimes assist young couples with premarital counseling, lead prison ministries in state institutions and perform business lectures at Bethune Cookman College for young students interested in pursuing business careers. She also taught classes for the S.H.I.P. Program which provides instructional training for low income individuals on how to attain housing opportunities.
Stella was always smiling no matter what she was going through. She met no strangers and demonstrated love by her actions. She loved to talk to anyone and at any time. She had a perpetually kind heart with a genuinely sweet soul. Her angelic smile will forever be missed.
