Willie also has 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren along with his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Willie, affectionately known as “Buddy,” attended the local schools in Daytona Beach, and was a full-blooded “Centipede” of Campbell Senior High school. He loved attending the Jack Summerall Family Gatherings, held in Baxley, GA for the past 67 years, whenever he could. His livelihood journey took him to New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania for many years. During those years he was an over-road truck driver for over 35 years driving throughout the United States. Buddy returned to Daytona Beach in 2012 to live out his twilight years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, where he served as one of the church’s song leaders and frequently would participate and lead in several types of ministries, including at his apartment complex. Buddy had a daily bible study habit that kept him rooted and grounded in the Lord. Buddy’s greatest joy was with family, friends and going fishing at Bethune Point. He had a passion for helping others who were in need, of just needed his help. His other joys included going to Walmart and singing while shopping, driving Miss Betsy (his car), and most importantly, eating. His more recent routine visits were to his son Anthony’s restaurant, Flournoys Family Restaurant, a favorite destination for him. He was compassionate to others and would call or visit those who were sick, hospitalized, or in rehabilitation centers. His love for helping others had no bounds and he will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
